User wears a waterproof bracelet with a button that can be pressed in the home or yard if help is needed.
When the button is pressed a signal is sent to the base station located centrally in the home and connected to a landline phone outlet
The base station then calls our 24/7 emergency call center.
A QMedic representative attempts to communicate to the user through the base station's speakerphone
Based on the user's needs, our representative can dispatch local emergency services or contact family/friends
If the user is not able to respond, the QMedic representative calls the user's home phone line
With no answer on the home phone line, our respresentative dispatches local emergency services.
Sensing technology embedded in the bracelet can detect if the user is wearing the device, how the user is sleeping, how active the user is and if the user is inside or outside the home.
The QMedic bracelet is communicating to the base station every 20 minutes to make sure the connection is working.
When an emergency situation is detected, pre-designated contacts including family, friends and/or neighbors are sent text message alerts
In addition, pre-designated individuals will receive weekly updates on the user's sleep quality, physical activity levels and time spent inside the home
